Step 1: Create Artwork

Great artwork leads to great products, and families truly appreciate the effort put into each creation.

Below are your 2 options for completing Step 1.

Option 1: Use Existing Artwork

If students have existing artwork, you can use this and upload it using our Pix Tool.  We recommend:

* Make the canvas/paper size the same as our art paper.  (ratio 1 to 0.635…. eg 1000 x 635 pixels)

* Save the file as  a jpg, high resolution (300dpi), name the file as the students name.

Option 2: Create New Artwork

Here are our top tips to help with the artwork creation.

* Use the art paper we have supplied in your starter pack, as it matches the proportions of our products.  You can also attach the unique sticker codes to the art paper to speed up the upload process. (note: only apply the stickers once you have been supplied a room checklist from us)

* Create art in landscape orientation, as landscape art looks the best on our products.

* Don’t have any important text or art around the border.  While you should fill the entire page, keep in mind that a slight crop may occur during production.

* Use our artwork library, to help the teachers and students with inspiration

* Share the ‘Teachers Area’ with your teachers, here they will find helpful information and learn about common art creation mistakes that can lead to production issues.

STEP 1: Get to know our Teachers Area

  1. Introduction to Calendar Art for teachers
  2. Picking a lesson plan
  3. Understanding the risks that cause issues

Even teachers that have been doing this for decades should find something helpful here!

STEP 2: Engage the Teachers

  1. Discuss this with your Art Teacher (if you have one) so they can brief the teachers with ideas.
  2. Invite the Teachers to the website via email, we have drafted these messages:

STEP 3: Distribute the Art Paper

  • The Art Paper is split into sets of 25 to make it faster to sort into room lots for each Teacher.
  • Each teacher needs a copy of the Creating Pictures – Teacher Guidelines, make sure you complete the two fields at the top of each of the guidelines.
